Medivet Cheltenham is part of the Medivet group (a corporate veterinary chain) and offers general practice care with on-site facilities such as an in-house laboratory, X‑rays, ultrasound and an orthopaedic theatre. The practice website lists 15‑minute consultations, nurse clinics, and home visits, and also notes out‑of‑hours care is provided by Vets Now Cheltenham (with an out‑of‑hours consult fee shown as “from £320 inc VAT”).
From the latest reviews, owners repeatedly mention friendly, informative staff and accommodating handling for anxious or reactive pets (including arranging visits when the building is empty for a dog that doesn’t like other dogs). However, there are also repeated complaints about being kept waiting beyond appointment time, and one review describes a vet being unable to examine a cat and suggesting sedation for future visits.

My cat Mia is always very well looked after here. Appointments are easy to make and the staff are friendly, patient and helpful. I love their monthly payment plan too; takes away the stress of high bills from the routine appointments and medication and really helps me manage my finances and provide the best for my ball of fluff.

I have my cat on a plan, generally booking appointments at 09.00. Third time in, third time they are late, at the point of this review we have 20 minutes late and going. Staff is polite however if every time we have to come in, we are loosing 15 to 30 minutes, it becomes annoing. I always pay the full bill not most of it.

Our cat Lilly always has a stress free experience when she visits Medivet. The vet and veninary nurses are sensitive to Lilly's anxiousness and are kind and friendly. I would not go elsewhere due to the exceptional advice and care.Thank you all. Alison Williams

The welcome was very offhand, after which I was ignored, even though I was early for my appointment and so ended up waiting for about 15 minutes. The vet managed to give the cat her booster jab but couldn’t examine her. His suggestion was that they would sedate her before further appointments. My suggestion is that he takes advice from the lovely, very competent vet who (very sadly) left the practice last year - she was quite able to deal with my cat without drugging her. Only reason for two stars instead of one was the university student on placement. I had to work very hard, but eventually she unbent and we had a short but pleasant chat.

I found this vets very friendly and helpful. I have a rottweiler who does not like other dogs, they were so accommodating, arranging visits for when the vets is empty and I was made to feel comfortable and welcome regardless of the situation. My dog loves going here too.

All members of staff have been incredibly welcoming and really friendly. They explain everything thoroughly and clearly love animals. I'm glad we picked this practice for our two cats 😺😺
