Stow Veterinary Surgeons is a small-animal practice established in the 1820s, treating dogs, cats and small pets (including rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets). The clinic offers 24-hour emergency cover via an out-of-hours service (with telephone advice and emergency consultations), and lists on-site diagnostics including X‑rays, ultrasound and an in-house lab for blood tests. It also states RCVS Core Standards accreditation and is listed as a veterinary nurse training facility.
Review signals are mixed: several clients describe long-term, consistent care and a kind manner, while a small number report serious dissatisfaction—including concerns about handling of an unwell dog during neurological/reflex testing and one account of a rapid cancer diagnosis followed by euthanasia in a short appointment with a high bill.

Took my cat I for not eating, was told she had stomach cancer. Cat was put down on the spot and I was charged £200 for the 15 minute experience.

We had the need to seek out a Vet whilst we were on a short break in the Cotswolds, as our little Cavapoo Amber had injured her paw. We really felt that she had the 5 Star treatment. Ann, the veterinary nurse and Olivia the Vet were wonderful. We can’t thank them enough.

This vet’s main priority is making as much money out of your pet as possible rather than considering the best interests of your pet. They let my very poorly dog fall over whilst conducting reflex tests, she could hardly walk when they were finished. We took her to Hook Norton vets for a second opinion and the time and care they took with her was amazing. Would never go back.

Fast and efficient, our dog was seen by a very kind and engaging female vet after booking the day before and very happy with the outcome. While the service was on the expensive side when compared with other locations, we were very happy and perhaps some of the additional expense is incurred due to the location. Highly recommended.
